Description
Stunning mid-century modern sofa designed by Mel Smilow for the Smilow-Thielle Furniture Company in the 1950s. Known as the “American Hans Wegner,” Smilow’s designs are celebrated for their clean lines, functional elegance, and enduring craftsmanship.
This piece features a solid walnut case frame with beautiful natural grain and warm patina, paired with sleek tapered legs. The sofa has been restored and newly upholstered in white bouclé fabric, giving it a fresh, modern edge while honoring its time design.
The design is time, the wood is spectacular, and the construction of the sofa is solid.
A second, matching sofa is available in a separate listing.See
